Huh.

That didn't suck. Sorta expected it to.

What do ya'll do between curses? Seems sorta...borin' and I come from Dillon.

Works for me. You wanna meet me somewhere?

Yeah. How about we start at The Blue Light? It's at a pretty central location.

Okay. I'll meet you there. I'll be the guy in cowboy boots.

[Twenty minutes later Jill is there in a pair of torn skinny jeans, a pair of heels and a loose, shimmery blouse with holes to bare the shoulders but drapey sleeves. She spots a boy in cowboy boots and cautiously approaches.]

Tim?

[Tim gives her a slow, crooked grin and nods.]

Yes Ma'am. That's me. You're Jill?

[She offers him a small grin in return, especially fond of his greeting. It's kind of obvious he's Southern right off the bat. She extends one hand in greeting.]

Yes. I'm Jill. It's nice to meet you.

[He shakes her hand with a grin. Yeah, Tim is pretty southern.]

Nice to meet you too.

I can't believe you're bored in this place.

[Jill leans on the bar on her elbows and waits for the tender to get over to them. Then she orders herself a bloody mary and then looks over to Tim so he can order whatever he wants.]

[Tim shrugs.] Maybe I just ain't found enough things to do yet. [Tim orders a beer. He's going to start with that at least.]

[She scoots up onto a bar stool with her back to the bar and facing the crowd.]

Well there's Xanadoo which is kind of a cool place. And bars and coffee shops and shopping...

Yeah, shopping not really my thing. Bars are cool though. What's Xanadu?

[She tilts her head thoughtfully to consider that a moment since Xanadu is really a lot of different things all thrown together.]

It's like a park with several different kinds of gardens. There's a zoo and a nice restaurant...

Guess it wouldn't be a bad place to hang out then.

[Jill smirks and turns her head to look at him.] Not bad.

[The tender sets their drinks on the bar and Jill turns to pick up her bloody mary, taking a sip of it.] Yum. So where are you from?

[Tim takes a long sip of his beer.] Dillon, Texas. You? Somewhere down south?

[Because of her accent. He knows it's not Texas but he's not sure where it's from either.]

Texas, I should have guessed. I'm from Alabama. [And as she feels compelled to do so, she holds up her bloody mary glass in a toast and adds the obligatory] Roooll Tide! [Then she takes a healthy sip of the drink.]

[Tim chuckles at that and clinks his glass to hers.]

Go Panthers! [Not on the same level but Tim's got his loyalties.]

[And to show that she can meet halfway and be all support-o gal and have fun gal... okay maybe she still needs a lot of work on that having fun part, but to show she's working on it, she lifts one arm in the air and yells.] Go Panthers! [Which earns a round of cheers from around the bar since she can yell with the best of them.]

[Tim chuckles and takes a good sip of his beer.] You're alright, Jill. I mean...you get it. Most people here, don't.

I get football. It's a thing.

[She smiles just a bit and idly stirs her bloody mary with the celery stick that came with it. He's right, most people here don't get it. Lucy does. And honestly, she could see this guy being with someone like Lucy. A girl who's a lot of fun with just a dash of emo drama. Jill is the complete opposite of that. Jill happens to be a lot of dark emo drama with just a dash of fun. He's cute though... and probably really young if he's talking about high school football.]

Football is where you get to be silly and have fun no matter what. And you can trash talk things other people care about without any repercussions... for the most part.

[Tim's got a lot more self loathing inside of him than most people give him credit for. And yeah, he's pretty young. Just sixteen. Not that he lets that stop him. He chuckles a bit and shakes his head.]

You musta had a different football experience than me. I mean yeah, football is all kinds of fun 'cause you get to hit people and everyone tells you you're awesome for it but it's not silly. Serious business.

Well, yeah. [Said like yeah hello it's pretty obvious that they would have had different football experiences. Girls don't get to play, they just get to yell and look cute and be number one fans of the teams, so silliness ensues.]

I'm both a girl and a fan.
