007 Play [Action]
[Tim is in one of his self loathing phases brought on by Christmas and the fact that he doesn't miss Billy as much as he thinks he ought to along with a general sort of self loathing. This means he's drunk and he's spoiling for a fight. Except that it's Tim and he's in a mood. He's more spoiling for a beating, his own not someone else's.
He's in a bar in the Underground hustling pool and doing fairly well at it. The guy he's hustling is getting pretty surly.]
[ooc: Feel free to be the guy, be in the bar, have Tim just piss you off by existing. I'm pretty okay with anything it takes to get him in a fight.]

[ video, if that's okay? ]
[video] always
[ooc:If you want to do him coming back to the youth center, we can do that here as well. If you don't it's fine.]
[ She'll wait for him, to make sure he's okay when he comes back. ]
[ooc; yes, let's :D ]
[action]
[When he returns a few hours later he's pretty much had the hell beat out of him. There's nothing broken but there's a spot over his eye that's split and crusted with blood. His lip is split as well. There's a bruise along his jaw. His entire body is fairly bruised up as well but there aren't any bruises or scrapes on his knuckles. He might have thrown one punch the whole night.]
[action]
She'll look up at him from the chair she's curled up in, the book sinking to her lap as she stares. ]
Oh. [ It hurts to see him so beaten, and for a moment she's frozen and unmoving. The next, she's up in a flurry of movement. ] Tim, what's happened to you?
[action]
Got punched.
[More accurately he picked a fight and then let himself get the hell beat out of him.] M'okay. Just need a beer.
[It makes everything hurt less. He's only half drunk because self loathing isn't as effective when you're numb.]
[action]
[ Frowning at him, full of worry.
She gestures to the chair she's vacated. ] Please, sit down.
[action]
[He does go to sit down, moving a bit slower and clumsier than usual.]
[action]
Let me get you cleaned up. [ Going to the sink to wet a towel. ] You've blood everywhere.
[action]
You don't gotta do that. I'll jusst sit here for a little while.
[action]
[action]
[action]
There. [ Dropping the now-bloody towel in the sink. She'll clean it up later; for now, Tim is more important.
And yet, she's a little at loss. He seems in a mood, and she doesn't know how to get him out of it, not the way he always seems to know with her. ]
Would you like me to read to you?
[action]
Just talk real quiet. Can't follow a story.
[action]
She'll gather her thoughts for a moment, but then start talking, of this book she read and whom she met in the library the other day, inconsequential things that don't require attention or response. ]
[action]
Why are you so nice to me?
[It's out of nowhere, probably interrupting one of her sentences.]
[action]
A number of reasons. [ She finally answers, words deliberate and even. ] You are my friend, are you not? You would do - indeed, have done - much of the same for me. I like you.
[action]
[And of course the implication there is that he doesn't.]
[action]
[ Oh, Tim. Tessa doesn't like that implication at all. ]
[action]
If you say so, Darlin'.
[action]
[ Just looking at him for a moment, before she leans forward to kiss him - on the forehead, not the lips. She is not bold enough for that, and the split looks as though it would hurt if she did. ]
You should go to sleep, Tim.
[action]
Don't s'pose you're gone come to bed with me.
[action]
I could stay to talk to you until you sleep.
